The British Cryogenics Council is pleased to announce an Introductory Cryogenics Course to be hosted at the STFC Daresbury Laboratory on Wednesday 23rd and Thursday 24th November 2022. The course will be in-person; no remote connection will be possible.S﻿CROLL DOWN FOR PROVISIONAL TIMETABLEThis two-day course will provide attendees with a brief introduction to a range of topics in cryogenic engineering including:<ul><li>History and overview of cryogenics</li><li>Properties of matter at low temperatures</li><li>Heat transfer</li><li>Cryostat design</li><li>User safety</li><li>Design safety</li><li>Cryocoolers</li></ul>Target audience:The course is an introduction for those new to low temperature systems, starting from a basic level and building up over two days. The course is aimed primarily at graduate engineers, new postgraduate students, and technicians.Tickets:Non-members £125BCC Members £100Information:Slides will be made available to all attendees after the course. The coach will be marked “BCC Cryogenics Course / Daresbury Laboratory”. This will be leaving from outside the train station at 10:00 on Wednesday 23rd Nov and returning to the station at approximately 18:00. On Thursday 24th Nov, the coach will leave from outside the station at 08:00 and return at approximately 16:00.
