About this event

  • 3 days 3 hours

Learn about the invasive wild vegetables carpeting the riversides in spring.  Learn about few flowered leek, Japanese knotweed, pink purslane, ground elder, Himalayan balsam and other delicious invasive edibles, find out who brought them here, why they are a problem, how to distinguish them from toxic look-alikes and how to use them in the kitchen. Compare invasive phototoxic giant hogweed with edible native common hogweed and learn how to safely distinguish them already by their first young leaves. Bring scissors and a basket to take home a bunch of tasty invasives in the pleasant knowledge that, for once, our consumption only benefits the environment.

This course may include food or drink samples, so please inform me of dietary requirements ahead of time.
