Join local fisherman and scallop diver Jamie Elder on his amazing 2 hour cruise aboard his boat, the 31ft ‘Striker’
Running from the jetty at Inverewe Garden and sailing around the shores of Loch Ewe, the cruises view wildlife on the surface of the loch, underwater, as well as in the skies above!
You’ll have the chance to view many seabirds and marine animals, and to lift fishing creels to look at creatures from below the waves – velvet, green and edible brown crabs, lobsters, octopus, sea stars and a variety of fish as well. We regularly see northern European otters, seals, golden eagles, white-tailed eagles as well as many seabirds.
On this more in-depth cruise, with panoramic views of Loch Ewe, we head further out of the loch. We’ll lift fishing creels from different types of seabed to show you different shellfish. We also go into Loch Tournaig, which is home to a large harbour seal colony with newborn pups (there are grey seals as well) and hopefully we’ll see our very large residents: the sea eagles of Loch Ewe!
For non-members, reduced entry prices to Inverewe Garden will be £10.50 for adults and £28 for families. Members enjoy free entry into the garden.
The boat trips are weather dependent. Full refunds will be issued if trips are cancelled due to inclement weather.
