Please join us for this event where we will be showcasing some examples of involvement at the Health Innovation Network (HIN) and leading a structured discussion about how we can develop a system which supports involvement within health and care in south London.At the HIN, we are passionate about embedding a culture where involvement (sometimes called Patient and Public Involvement or PPI) is at the heart of all we do. This includes helping people who work in health and care realise the benefits of involvement, maintaining momentum on understanding its importance, and communicating the diversity of ways that people and communities can proactively be involved in improving health and care.As part of this work, the HIN has recently produced its first ever Involvement Strategy, with input from more than 65 stakeholders – including members of the public who have lived experience of health and care services in south London, HIN members, and HIN staff. The strategy sets out our vision for involvement at the HIN and our partners, defining the principles and expectations which we will use to inform our work.The launch of our Involvement Strategy is an important milestone in our commitment to improve the standard of patient involvement in health and care, ultimately improving service design and health outcomes for patients.If you are a member of the public, we are able to provide payment for your time at this event, and cover reasonable travel expenses - please contact sophie.lowry2@nhs.net prior to the event, to arrange this.
