IoT Showcase: The Encore

Leeds Digital Festival 2018 represented a first for us when we organised the IoT Showcase for the first time. It followed a similar format to our data-focused Showcase, where speakers were asked to give a 10-20mins talk about something they were working on or passionate about. The IoT Showcase proved to be one of our most popular events.
As all good performances deserve an encore, we are delighted to be hosting a second IoT Showcase this year!
Same format, new speakers, slightly different timescale. As this second IoT Showcase is forming part of a 2-day event called the IoT UK Challenger North (more on this below), it will be a half-day series of talks beginning in the morning. Previous speakers have included Things North, Foundation for Digital Creativity, aql, LucyZodion, IoT Tribe, Arrow, Things Manchester, and more.
We are building our speaker list over the summer so if you'd like to give a 10-20mins talk about your project or work within IoT, please get in touch with Amy :)

What's the IoT UK Challenger North?
The IoT UK Challenger North is a 2-day event for SMEs with IoT products/services who want to work with public and private sector organisations to create solutions to pressing challenges. There will be broad themes and more specific challenges within those themes. For example, the theme might be 'health' and the specific challenge might be 'how do we help people live healthier lives.' After the IoT Showcase and a lunch break, the IoT UK Challenger North begins with SME intros and challenge details. To participate in the challenger event, you must apply through this application portal.
How does the IoT Showcase fit in with the challenger event?
The IoT Showcase is for anyone and everyone to attend, and successful applicants to the IoT UK Challenger North will be invited to be a speaker. There's always an enthusiastic and convivial atmosphere at our showcase-style events, so it's about spreading the word about really cool (and sometimes truly life-changing) developments in IoT to a wider audience, and also allowing fine folk within the IoT community to see what other people are working on. This sparks conversations and collaborations aplenty!
If I register for the IoT Showcase, can I stick around for the IoT UK Challenger North?
Only if you have also contacted us about offering your support to the SMEs during the challenger event.
