On 31st January 1983, the Skin Two Club held its first event. It was an open door SM/Fetish night for anyone that wanted to attend, be they gay/het/bi/anythingelse, sub/dom, old/young, black/white, fat/thin howeveryouare.
These are the principles on which The Scene - that is the Free and Empowered Pansexual and Panethnic Sadomasochistic Community - was founded upon. The Scene, as we know it now, as we have known it for the last 40 years, began then. That was the start.
We invite you to join us, The Firm (though we acknowledge that we were not there), in celebrating this most fundamental anniversary.
Tuesday 31 January 2023. Tickets are only £10 - but that, like it was then, is the same price for everyone - and the venue, like then, is a cellar bar in London.
If it makes a profit, Great Ormond Street gets it.
The original venue no longer exists. This one will be just 2 minutes walk from Dalston Kingsland.
Dresscode is what it was in 1983 - rubber, leather, PVC, TV, uniform - that's our statement of tribal identify from the start. You don't wanna wear it? Don't come.
Music and visuals from the day it began.
This is when we say 'It began then'.
