ITSPA Teams Workshop 

Comms Council UK is a membership-led organisation that both represents and supports telecommunications companies that provide services to business and residential customers in the UK.We keep Britain talking in its various guises by providing or reselling voice services over data networks (VoIP) as well as other “over the top” applications including instant messaging and video.The membership is a mixture of network operators, service providers, resellers, suppliers and consultants involved in a sector that is diversifying rapidly.Comms Council UK (formerly known as ITSPA) represents its members at a policy level, builds coalitions to collaborate on industry initiatives and provides a platform to help members prepare for change, learn about new trends and develop new business relationships.

Over the years Microsoft have been making strides to extend their Office suite to encompass voice (OCS, Skype for Business etc). They have to some extent been regarded with a degree of suspicion by the telco community who believed they were out to eat their lunch.
With Teams and Direct Connect it would appear that Microsoft are opening up their environment to SIP trunk suppliers and have a number of certified SBC vendors that should make this easy to do.
This workshop has been put together to examine whether Microsoft should be seen as a threat or an opportunity by the ITSPA community. We have a number of stakeholders coming along to provide what should be an informative / educational afternoon. Our objective is that you will go away with a better idea of what Microsoft are up to and be able to decide whether there is a play for your own company.
