Join us on Wednesday 1st October at the Royal Yacht in the Celestial Hall, to find out more about our 2026 volunteering opportunities and how you can apply.
Through taking part in one of JOA's volunteering projects, islanders have the opportunity to learn more about international development, responsible volunteering and the needs of local communities. JOA's volunteering programme is impactful, delivered in equal partnership with local community volunteers, and supports sustainable development initiatives for poor and marginalised people.
Conditions can be challenging, and creature comforts are few and far between, but being part of a JOA volunteer team is a highly rewarding experience. For many it is a once-in-a lifetime opportunity; bringing with it renewed perspective, life-long connections and greater understanding of how to support and advocate for development initiatives, as well as being an extraordinary personal development opportunity.
You will hear from the JOA team and previous volunteers, with the opportunity for discussion and to ask your own questions. Come along to this event to find out more about the projects we have planned for 2026, and find out how to apply.
