The armed forces community have a wealth of transferable skills and qualities they can bring as employees. Join us to discover the strength of these skills and how you can help to support veterans and reservists in the workplace. You will have the chance to sign your own, tailored Armed Forces Covenant at the event, pledging how you choose to support your existing, or future potential employees, within the armed forces community. This is a great opportunity to build a reputation as a forces-friendly organisation. You can also learn about the Employment Recognition Scheme (ERS). This scheme acknowledges employers who are providing exceptional support to veterans, serving personnel, reservists and family members of those in the armed forces. Those who are successful in achieving this can gain access to free training opportunities to help develop the skills of staff, such as Leadership and Management courses. A Gold ERS organisation will join us to share their experience. The invite is open to any employer in the Harborough district such as businesses, shops, schools, manufacturers, care homes, logistics firms, security firms, medical centres, dentists, or others.Please arrive from 6pm for welcome drinks and light refreshmentsThe event will begin at 6.30pm with a welcome from the Armed Forces Champion of Harborough District Council followed by presentations from the Defence Employer Engagement Team, and a Gold ERS award business.There will be an opportunity for your business to be part of a publicity photo about the event during the eveningNo dress code.For enquiries please email business@harborough.gov.uk
