Join the Programme and Engagement team from Dulwich Picture Gallery along with guest artists, practitioners and cultural organisations for a day of talks and workshops exploring how we can work with visitors and audiences to unlock the stories behind our collections and create connections and relevance through programming and interpretation. About this EventThis day is inspired by the learning and practise gathered from Dulwich Picture Gallery&#x27;s National Lottery Heritage Fund project &quot;Journeys&quot; which has explored stories of art, identity and belonging and has aimed to tell new stories about our collection through the lens of migration and local community stories.Event ScheduleSession One: 11.00 to 12.00 noon - Journeys at Dulwich Picture Gallery<ul><li>Introduction: Jennifer Scott, Sackler Director at Dulwich Picture Gallery</li><li>Journeys at Dulwich Picture Gallery &quot;What have we learned?&quot;: Kelly Robinson, Learning and Participation Manager</li></ul>Session Two: 13.00 to 13.45 - Unlocking Paintings<ul><li>&quot;In Conversation&quot; with Head of Programme and Engagement, Jane Findlay and Curator, Helen Hillyard exploring how Dulwich Picture Gallery has been working with visitors and audiences to unlock stories behind the collection. </li><li>This session will be chaired by Catherine Mailhac, Engagement Consultant</li></ul>Session Three: 14.00 to 15.00 - Volunteer Led Creative Conversations<ul><li>Using techniques from Visual Thinking Strategy practice (VTS) in this practical workshop Vanessa Weilbel, Learning Consultant and Kelly Robinson, Learning and Participation Manager will guide you through the theory of VTS and how it has been used by volunteers at Dulwich Picture Gallery to develop and deliver pop up Creative Conversations with Gallery visitors.</li></ul>Session Four: 15.30 to 16.30 - Amplifying Stories: How do we handle and share other people&#x27;s stories as curators, artists and practitioners?<ul><li>This practical workshop Nicky Francis (Artist and Animator), Hannah Edwards (Exhibitions Co-ordinator at Dulwich Picture Gallery) and Natasha Vicars (Curator at Museum of London) will explore the key actions and challenges of working with the community to ensure representation within institutions and artistic practice.</li><li>The sessions will be chaired by Lucy Ribeiro, Artist and Creative Learning Producer. </li></ul>You are welcome to attend all sessions or to choose which is of the most interest to you. Spaces are limited for the afternoon workshops (sessions 2, 3 and 4) so we will be asking you to specify as part of your booking exactly which sessions you would like to be present at. You will need a separate ticket for each session.All sessions will be taking place on Zoom. Joining instructions will be emailed to attendees nearer the time. AccessThe event will be in English and live captioning will be available via Zoom during the live events.
