Welcome to our Two-Day Linocut Workshop at 50 Hurst Street Studios
14 & 15 June 2025
On this workshop you will learn all the skills needed to make single colour and multicolour linocut prints. We will cover all parts of the process from image composition, image transfer and carving techniques, to taking a print. We will teach you to operate our printing presses, but we will also show you how to print by hand. With the skills you learn on our course, you should be able to continue to exploring linocut printmaking at home.
This course is taught by Robin and Rosie from The Wytham Studio. We only take a maximum of 6 on each courses so you will receive a lot of 1:1 attention. No prior experience is necessary but if you do have some experience, because of our high staff to student ration we will be able to tailor what you learn to what your needs are. We aim to get you working on 2 prints over the course, a black and white print on the first day to get to grip with the basics of the process, and a multi-colour image on the second days so we can look at how to work with colour. We can be flexible on this depending on your previous experience and intentions.
We provide all materials you will need on the course, all we ask you to bring are ideas for your prints. Please do ask us if you have any questions about the course.
