Ewa Justka

Ewa Justka is a Polish electronic noise artist, self taught instrument builder and electronics teacher based in London. Justka explores the materiality of objects, vibrant, ontological systems (human bodies, plants’ bodies, electronic circuits: varied range of micro and macro environments and relations between them) and investigates of modes of quasi-direct perception through noise performance actions, interactive installation, DIY electronics, hardware hacking, plant-molesting, breaking, deconstructing and collaborating. In her artistic work Ewa attempts to explore the concept of materiality of the hidden.

Ewa has performed and led workshops at festivals and venues like: Loop Festival, Sonic Acts Academy, Supernormal Festival, Club Transmediale, STEIM, Colour out of Space, Beam Festival, Cafe Oto, and more.

Marcin Pietruszewski

Marcin Pietruszewski is a Polish composer and researcher currently based in Edinburgh. He has performed solo at various venues around Europe including Berghain in Berlin, Institute of Contemporary Arts (ICA) in London, MUMUTH in Graz and Bunkier Sztuki in Krakow. He has composed and produced radio works - Deutschlandradio Kultur commissioned '(dia)grammatology of space' (2016) and 'The Extended Sieve Synthesis' (2014).

In his research practice Pietruszewski integrates the legacy of the post war electro-acoustic tradition with current advances in the field of auditory research and computing. He is primarily focused on a development of non - standard sound synthesis methods based on an abstract models. He is active as a lecturer and tutor of creative coding practice and music technology at the Reid School of Music, Edinburgh College of Art.

The opening concert will feature a premiere of Marcin 's new composition '/sıv/' - a commision by the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. The work /siv/ consist of a pluriphonic computer generated sound, synthetic voice and libretto (written by Virginia Barratt and Chris Shambaugh). The main sonic material of the work consist of a novel adaptation of sieve algorithm - as first introduced by Iannis Xenakis - seamlessly integrated with microsound synthesis, distortion product otoacoustic emission (DPOAE) and tensor flow deep learning audio synthesis. Dara Etefaghi

Dara is a composer and an audio-visual artist. Lno1 is a sound piece which takes an informal approach to noise and drone. A remote-less, but piloted musical hole, heavily layered and fazed. The piece explores disassociation within digitally constructed soundscapes
