A pair of engaging virtual sessions for existing assistant leaders who wish to work towards gaining the full Leadership qualification.

Who?Any assistant leader with modules 1-3 of the Leadership qualification who wish to complete module 4 to gain the full qualification. You must be over 18 years old.Details:The aim of the session is to give assistant leaders the knowledge needed to go away and have a discussion with their mentor to complete all aspects of part 1 of module 4 of the Leadership qualification.S﻿ession 1, on Saturday 24 June 9:30am - 11am, will contain:<ul><li>D﻿ata management</li><li>W﻿hy we keep records</li><li>H﻿ow to record unit meeting activities and skills builders on GO</li><li>W﻿here to access the budgeting webinar</li></ul>S﻿ession 2 will run on the same day after a 30mins break - 11:30am - 1pm. It will contain:<ul><li>S﻿tructure of guiding</li><li>H﻿ow information can be communicated</li><li>I﻿deas for raising awareness</li><li>O﻿ur identity</li><li>P﻿olicies and code of conduct</li><li>D﻿oing Our Best standards</li></ul>The sessions are interactive and engaging and you'll have plenty of time to raise questions.Where?This course will be hosted on Zoom, don't worry if you have not used this before, we have some resources to help you. Although we are not expecting any children, do think about your surroundings and what you are wearing or saying, as other people in other houses might be able to hear or see you. Guiding uniform or member's wear is completely optional. W﻿hen?Sessions are held over one Saturday morning. You don't need to be available to attend both sessions but we'd advise that you do attend both if you can. Each session will run for 90 mins with a break in between sessions. Cost?Sessions are free however spaces are limited so please book a ticket. We expect demand to be high so please only book if you are certain you can attend. If an emergency arises, which means you cannot attend, please contact Events@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk in case we can offer your space to someone else.F﻿AQsIf there is anything we can do to support you to attend, please discuss it with us by emailing events@girlguiding-anglia.org.uk. Who will my data be shared with?Please note that this is a joint training with both Girlguiding Anglia and Girlguiding South West England so your answers may be shared with a combined Anglia and South West organising team just for the purposes of delivering this training and will then be deleted afterwards. Where this is the case, we will only share the minimum that is needed to facilitate the sessions.Does this complete my Leadership qualification? This course is for people that have already completed their Leadership qualification with modules 1-3 but would like to add module 4. You will not complete the module by attending these sessions however you will have the knowledge to discuss this with your mentor to get the clauses signed off. What happens if I don't have a book or mentor? Don't worry if you don't have a book or a mentor, you can still attend the sessions to help improve your knowledge, <a href="https://www.girlguiding.org.uk/globalassets/docs-and-resources/learning-and-development/leadership-qual/leadershipqualification_modules14.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">download module 4 here</a> and speak to your commissioner about adding this module in the near future. W﻿ill I lose my role as an assistant leader if I don't do this now?N﻿o, after September 2023, you can remain as an assistant leader if that suits you.W﻿ill there be other options in the future?G﻿irlguiding have suggested that after September 2023, there will be a way for assistant leaders to add to their qualification to become full leaders if they wish. We don't know much about this at the moment but one option would be to complete the new leader development programme (LDP) on the learning platform.I﻿s this the only way to become a full leader?N﻿o this is just one way to support you in completing module 4 of the Leadership qualification.
