About this event
Our monthly sling meets are informal small group sessions to explore carrying your wee one. Join us for a relaxed chat, a chance to explore other slings and carriers and if you have one bring your sling!
** PLEASE NOTE: Our September meet up is an Introduction to Buckle Carriers, a general overview of types of buckle carriers, how to use them and the opportunity to practice in a group setting. If you already have a buckle carrier please bring it with you. Due to time constraints we are unable to provide an individual fit check for your own sling at this workshop.
The workshop takes place from 10am - 11am, and we also have a general sling meet from 11am - 12pm. The workshop ticket covers both sessions (10am - 12pm), and there is also a ticket option to join the sling meet only at 11am.
Info about our different workshops and sessions:
Sling Social and Fit Check - We will have a range of slings available for you to take a look at at our sling social where we'll be chatting all things babywearing. If you also book in for a fit with Jen check please bring your sling if you need some support with positioning or the fit of your sling or carrier. There are a limited number of fit check sessions available which must be pre-booked.
Introduction to Ringslings - This workshop is intended to provide a general overview of using a ringsling and a chance to practice in a group setting. Due to time constraints we are unable to provide an individual fit check for your own sling at this workshop. Please check back for future dates for our sling social and fit check sessions being added, or give us a follow on Eventbrite to be notified when dates are released.

Introduction to Woven Carriers, hosted by Jill from Oscha slings. Join Jill to get an overview of woven carriers with the opportunity to have a try and practice in a group setting. This session is suitable for older babies (not newborn babies or toddlers) and is an introductory session. It does not include back carrying.
Other sessions include, an introduction to baby wearing and early options, and an introduction to back carrying.
Whatever your experience of carrying your baby - from pregnancy onwards - our monthly meet ups are to chat, learn and discuss carrying experiences together. We suggest a sling walk in the Links afterwards for anyone that is able.
Hosted by Jen, mum of two and experienced babywearer. Not only is Jen passionate about helping others carry their babies and toddlers, she has also undertaken training with Slingababy at consultant level. There will be a range of different sings and carriers available to find out more.
For each session (workshop and sling meet, or sling meet only) we have two ticket types, please select the ticket that is right for you. These sessions are free to attend with a fully funded ticket option. Please help us to continue our services and reach more families with a pay it forward donation of £5.00 for the workshop and sling meet or £3.00 for the sling meet if you are able.
As a social enterprise we invest all profits back into supporting parents in the perinatal period and all donations (non refundable) are used to help us run our programmes.
Find our Family Wellbeing Hub at 4 Duncan Place, next to Leith Links (EH6 8HW) which has on street parking (pay to park) and is accessible by bus with stops nearby at Duke Street, Easter Road and Leith Walk which is also the closest tram stop.
