Kintsugi Craft Workshop

Kintsugi Craft Workshop

Overview

Discover the ancient art of Kintsugi with Amelia Bedson in a fun and creative way.

Kintsugi, which literally translates as 'golden joinery', celebrates the Japanese philosophy of the beauty of imperfection.

In this beginners workshop you will:

  • be given your own toolbox which will contain all the materials and items you need for this workshop.
  • learn step-by-step how to safely break pottery and to repair it with gold, thereby embracing the cracks to make unique pieces of art.
  • make two finished Kintsugi pieces to take home which make beautiful mementoes of the day and can be used as ornaments or gifts.

Why this workshop is so special:

  • Kintsugi is a mindful, meditative art form that celebrates the beauty in imperfection.
  • It is a relaxing creative experience that you can share with others.
  • Your Kintsugi ceramics are unique personalised pieces of art that embrace the power of transformation.
