Kitchen / Garden Apron

Kitchen / Garden Apron

Blue House FabricsYstradgynlais, Wales
Saturday, Mar 14 from 10 am to 1 pm GMT
Overview

Create a smart kitchen or garden apron with pockets. Suitable for beginners.

Please note - all our workshops start at 10 a.m. - we would be grateful if you did not arrive before 9.45 a.m.

Create your own stylish bespoke apron for yourself or as a gift. You will use a pattern to cut out, pin and sew your apron, attach cotton-tape neck and waist ties and add a pocket or two.

What we will provide:

Calico lining fabric

Cotton tape for neck and waist ties

Tea/Coffee and biscuits!

What you will need to bring:

We would prefer you to bring your own sewing machine, however if this is not possible we do have machines you can borrow.

Fabric for your apron. You will need a piece of fabric at least 1m long by 1m wide, plus a piece for the pocket(s) - usually this would be a contrasting fabric. Any type of cotton / polycotton /linen fabric will do, including lightweight denim. (Oilcloth/pvc fabrics will not be suitable for this apron, as it involves more advanced techniques and a special sewing foot. Nor stretchy fabrics)

Think about using preloved fabrics from clothing, bedding etc.

Alternatively there is plenty of suitable fabric available to buy at The Blue House, for a cost of £20 max. (depending on the fabric)
