It's a klezmer jam session with a focus on dancing and playing for dancing. So come along to play, or to dance, or both!
This is is a fun, informal session for dancers and musicians to get together and share the joy of Yiddish music, song and dance. Come to dance or bring an instrument to play, bring a Yiddish song to share, or practice your dance leading skills. All levels of experience and ability welcome to come and join in. Absolutely no previous knowledge or experience of Yiddish dance needed, and children are welcome too!
We'll have a snack table for us to congregate and socialise during the half time interval. Please feel free to bring any snacks to share. Also bring drinks as there isn't a bar, although there is a sink to fill your water bottles.
Because of venue security, you must book a free ticket in your name as it's not a public space. If you want to bring a friend or two, please book their ticket in their name if you can!
Venue is the lovely Junior Common Room at SOAS:
The SOAS Junior Common Room (JCR) is located within the Main Building of the SOAS, University of London campus on Thornhaugh Street, Russell Square, London WC1H 0XG. Situated on the ground floor, it is to the right of the main foyer and serves as a primary hub for student activities and the Students' Union.
