The KTP/EMI Associates Day 2024

Afternoon session

Registration and refreshments will start at 1.30 pm in the Dorothy Fleming lecture theatre in the Charles Street building.

KTP and EMI Associates and select guests will present their projects to fellow Associates, Supervisors, Company Partners and interested research staff within the University. KTP and EMI Associates who are in their first year will be asked to present an academic poster at the event. The opportunity to view the posters will occur before the presentation and during the comfort break in the afternoon.

This year we are offering facilities tours!

Materials and Engineering Research Institute (MERI)

This tour will showcase the laboratories in which MERI develops and tests new products or processes for a wide range of industrial applications. It will highlight the extensive, state-of-the-art analytical techniques, giving examples of how they were/can be used to solve applied materials and engineering problems.

Sheaf Building (SHEAF)

This tour will highlight SHEAF's 11,500 square foot cutting-edge teaching and research space, laboratories, and workshops. You will view a range of equipment including wind tunnels, laser scanning, a flight simulator, rapid prototyping equipment, robotics and automation laboratory, engine testing , materials testing and manufacturing workshops.

Food and Nutrition Specialist Facilities (FNSF)

Food innovation and manufacturing have a critical role to play for a sustainable future, a healthy planet, and people. This tour will showcase food and nutrition specialist facilities: food product development kitchens, food technology area, sensory evaluation suite, food composition, food safety and nutrition laboratories.

The tours will be an hour long and will start at 12.00 pm.
