Too damn right! It’s time for Norwich duo kulk to make a very welcome return to Pica pica, Pica pica! for an extra special show, launching their It Gets Worse album, released by Human Worth on 17 May.

“A hypnotic power that reaches the uninhabited frontiers of noise-rock and doom” Simon Kirk, Sun 13

kulk is simultaneously an exploration into human suffering and an extension of Jade and Thom’s own relationship. L for the ones around them. kulk pride themselves on their energetic and chaotic live performance. They’ve played with Part Chimp, Hey Colossus, Big Brave, Gnoomes and Portrayal of Guilt, among others, and toured twice with Pigsx7, including dates at legendary venues Electric Ballroom, Camden, and Nottingham’s Rock City.

“The kind of show that brings you to your knees and keeps you there” Adam Ian Sykes, Pigsx7

Welcome home, doom-meisters.

And we’ve got a very warm welcome for kulk’s hand-picked supports Modern Technology and Pete Bog, both playing their Norwich debut.

Chris Clarke and Owen Gildersleeve (Human Worth/Old Mayor) are Modern Technology. Encapsulating the influence of '90s Touch & Go-era noise-rock, sludge-metal’s grubby grit and the ferociousness of post-hardcore while voicing their concerns with a socially conscious outlook, you’ll hear EXTREMELY LOUD explorations of societal degradation, mental health struggles and our climate emergency. No wonder ArcTanGent’s hosting them in August.

“Modern Technology are one of the most thrillingly vital alternative acts out there and, with Conditions Of Worth, they have improved upon an already remarkable formula to create something of genuine depth, emotion, and musical skill.” 10/10 Sonic Abuse

Pete Bog is a noise rock band from Norwich featuring members of Jackals, Consolation, kulk and Crows-An-Wra. Tonight is their first ever gig.
