<h3>LAB - SPONTANEOUS FREESTYLE MAGIC</h3><h3>Sign up for the LAB launch event on July 16th July at Pirate Dalston</h3> <h4>What is LAB?</h4>LAB is Pirate’s brand-new music event where artists and beatmakers are paired at random to collaborate live on the spot. Part performance, part experiment, LAB is like a “blind date” for music-makers. Whether you’re freestyling or creating a remix in real time, you won’t know who your partner is until your name is called.Multiple live pairings, vocalists (rappers, singers, spoken word artists) and beatmakers will take the stage together, for the first time, to create something unforgettable in minutes.There’s up to £450 in studio credit up for grabs, plus a unique final twist where anyone in the room can challenge the top teams.

<h3>How Does LAB Work?</h3> Sign-Up &amp; Pairing<ul><li>Doors open at 6PM with two sign-up sheets: one for artists, one for beatmakers</li><li>The host begins by selecting random names to form duos.</li><li>Each pair is called to the stage.</li></ul> The Challenge<ul><li>The artist is given a short time seconds to listen to the producer's track before performing.</li><li>They then perform freestyle, prepared lyrics, or a cover live over the beat.</li><li>Each of the 3 judges scores the duo out of 10 (30 points total).</li><li>Judges can each award one “Wheel Up” during the night which is a chance for a standout pair to perform again and boost the prize pot by £50.</li></ul>The Final Round: Challenge &amp; Showdown<ul><li>The top 3 scoring pairs are announced.</li><li>The teams must unianimously vote on the challenger round to add more money to the prize pout.</li><li>Further information will be revealed on the night!</li></ul>
