lab live: recode
Sat 11 February 2017, 10:00 – 17:00 GMT
'lab live - recode' is now sold out - if you would like to come to the Imagination Lab we are now taking bookings for our next family focused events - 'lab life - recode' - 4 - 5 March. Please visit our website for more information or book tickets on Eventbrite.
The Institute of Imagination brings you recode, the first in our series of family ‘lab live' events, taking place at our new Imagination Lab at The Workshop on London’s Albert Embankment.
Join us for a fantastic day of dance and movement, crafting and engineering, numbers and language as we demystify ‘code’ by asking you to recode. With support from a range of partners including the Royal Academy of Dance, Makercart and Maths Explorers we will be presenting activities ideal for 5 – 12 year olds offering children and their parents/carers the opportunity to engage in a broad range of maker workshops.
Using words, symbols, sketching, movement and sound, the day will provide opportunities for participants to rework, mix and share their ideas on what code is and how it can be used. Computer coding will fuse with dance and coding languages such as Morse code will be reinvented.
For more information on the activities, check out who will be there here.
This is a ticketed event with limited availability. Please note that a ticket will need to be booked for each participant (both adults and children) and that all children will need to be accompanied by an adult. All workshops are available for adults and children to participate and we strongly encourage parents and carers to get involved on the day.
By booking a ticket to attend this Institute of Imagination event you will be automatically added to our mailing list which will keep you up to date with future family events (we will not use your details for any other purposes). If you would prefer not to be added then please send us an email: email@example.com
