LAMBDA Interdisciplinary Workshop on AI Applications and Security

Overview

Join us for a free one-day workshop exploring the applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and the emerging cybersecurity challenges.

Hosted by the Liverpool Advanced Methods for Big Data Analytics (LAMBDA) Research Centre, this workshop will bring together academics, postgraduate students, and industry professionals to explore how AI, including machine learning, is being applied across a range of research disciplines, alongside the opportunities and challenges presented by advances in AI technology.

As AI capabilities continue to develop, questions around security, vulnerabilities, and the responsible development and deployment of increasingly powerful systems are becoming more important.

The workshop will invite experts to discuss key cybersecurity challenges associated with frontier AI, drawing on issues highlighted by organisations including OpenAI, Anthropic and the AI Security Institute (AISI).

Featuring contributions from 10 speakers, the programme will provide an opportunity to explore interdisciplinary research, exchange ideas and engage with emerging developments in AI applications and security.

Participants will have the opportunity to:

  • Explore how AI and machine learning are being applied across different research disciplines
  • Discover emerging developments and opportunities in AI-driven research
  • Gain insight into cybersecurity challenges associated with frontier AI
  • Hear expert perspectives on current AI security issues and emerging risks
  • Engage in interdisciplinary discussion and knowledge exchange
