Gambling harm is rising in Lambeth. Join a focused working assembly to shape real solutions and influence Council action. Your voice matters
Help Shape a Lambeth Free From Gambling Harm
Gambling and gambling-related harm are having a growing and disproportionate impact on Black and Ethnic communities in Lambeth. As technology advances and access to gambling becomes easier than ever, the risks are increasing — and the need for collective action has never been more urgent.
Black Thrive Lambeth, in partnership with Bet Know More, invites you to be part of a powerful Community Assembly that brings people together to turn knowledge into action.
On 24 January 2026, we will gather at the Karibu Centre of Excellence for a full-day assembly focused on understanding gambling harms, sharing lived and professional insight, and — most importantly — co-creating practical recommendations to reduce harm and influence system change across Lambeth.
This is not a passive event. It is a working space for people who care.
Expect:
- An interactive workshop
- Open, honest discussion
- A shared meal
- A deep dive into how systems can be improved to better protect our communities and the next generation
You do not need to be a gambler to attend. You simply need to be a concerned citizen, professional, or resident who is ready to contribute, challenge, and help shape solutions that matter.
Gambling harm is a looming issue. This mission is urgent. And your voice is needed.
Date: 24 January 2026
Time: 11:00am – 5:00pm
Venue: Karibu Education Centre, 7 Gresham Rd, London SW9 7PH
Food and refreshments provided by the award-winning Bakers Dozen Kitchen
This is more than an event.
It is a movement — and one you should be part of.
