Ready to get crafty? Come down for a hands-on in-person session where you'll learn to create your very own stylish lampshade. No experience needed—just bring your creativity and have fun!

It's a chill environment perfect for meeting fellow DIY lovers and getting inspired. Don’t miss out on this chance to light up your space with something you made yourself.

This is a friendly informal 2 hour (ish) workshop, maximum 4 participants, with Jackie from Brits Love Vintage Interiors shop in Oxford Street Whitstable.

This class is perfect for beginners who want to learn how to make a contemporary lampshade. From choosing fabrics to applying the lampshade laminate to get the best out of your fabric, attaching the rings and creating neat hand rolled edges, with no sewing required.

You can make either a 20cm or 30cm diameter fabric lampshade which can be used on a lamp base or ceiling pendant. By the end of the workshop you will take home your very own bespoke lampshade and will have all the skills to create your own original shades!

Workshop costs £50 for a 40cm lampshade this includes all tuition, fabric from a selection of AGF fabrics, lampshade parts and tools for the class. You can choose from a selection of designer fabrics at an additional cost, or you are welcome to bring your own fabric to cover your lampshade, you will need half a meter. We recommend using a light to medium weight fabric, either a cotton, poly cotton or a linen/cotton mix. If you have any questions about fabric, then do get in touch.

Tea coffee and biscuits will be provided throughout the workshop

Tickets are non-refundable after booking, but you can rebook on the next available workshop or reallocate your ticket to someone else, just send us an email with the name and email of the person you have allocated your ticket to.

We reserve the right to cancel a workshop if there are less than 2 participants or if Jackie is unavailable. Full refunds, or an alternative date if preferred, will be given if we cancel a workshop.
