Hello, I'm Dion, The Art Hopper.The name 'Art Hopper' has been with me for over 15 years now (yikes).  I first started using it in 2008 when I tried out running bus tours around artists studios in North Devon.  It's since been used for my children's arty holiday clubs for Devon Learning Communities and St Anne's Arts Centre, preschool art group at Taunton Brewhouse, and now again when I returned to freelancing last year after a break from working.​I love organising things and to be honest I get twitchy feet if there isn't some kind of event on the horizon to get ready for.  I'm so pleased to be back working with creative people after a gap to look after my two tiddlers.  Let's just say the kids parties were given a bit too much thought!​I like making things and doing craft workshops myself so it's a joy to seek out fantastic makers and artists with the special skills to be able to teach as well.  Please treat yourself to some creative playtime either with your little ones at Art Hoppers preschool art club or book yourself an evening out at Late Create.  Have a look at my Instagram to see previous events and read reviews from happy crafters, mini artists and makers.Perhaps you are reading this as an artist looking for work running workshops and classes. A social evening of spring craft workshops with local makers in Trull, Taunton.

Trull Church Community Centre

An evening of making and crafting at Trull Church Community Centre (The Hive). Celebrate the springtime with flowers and friends by joining us to get your creative mojo ready for the Easter break. Sign up for two one hour workshops as part of the evening – book early to get your first choice.Your ticket price includes all materials, instruction, booking fees and fun.Choose two of the following:<h3>Workshops</h3>Needle felted rabbit with Deb Brown: Needle felt wool fibres to make a cute little rabbit perfect for your Easter displays and tablescape, although I doubt this little fellow will be put away after the feast. Mixed media picture with Dion Saunders: Create a picture with a difference using mixed media including paper ephemera, textiles, found objects and hand painted little people. Inspired by railway posters of the 1950’s your diorama will give you all the nostalgia of a summer holiday in a tiny frame. Let me know your favourite place and I’ll source the image for you to include or bring along your own. This would make the perfect gift or a momento or a treasured time/place.Harris tweed embroidered heart with Pam Martin: Design a beautiful hand stitched heart to hang in your home or give to a loved one. Using fabric hand woven on Harris &amp; Lewis, Harris Tweed in Scotland, eco threads and wool filling, you will learn some simple and striking hand embroidery then add natural embellishments.Eco Floristry with Aizel Finch of Yalham Haynes: Create a small dried flower cloud arrangement with guidance from Aizel. Learn the floral mechanics of working with dried flowers and the importance of sustainable floristry, replacing plastic foam forms with more reusable and biodegradable options. Leave with something beautiful!The venue has good access for wheelchair users and has a nearby large free car park. If you have any specific access questions please just email to ask. On booking please remember to book your second workshop of the evening in the ‘add ons’ section. If your choice of workshop appears sold out, try booking them in the opposite order, choosing it as the second workshop of the evening instead.
