Launch: Paolozzi at Large in Edinburgh
Event Information
Description
Blackwell's Bookshop and publisher Luath invite you to celebrate the launch of Paolozzi at Large in Edinburgh.
Born in Leith, Edinburgh into an immigrant Italian family, Eduardo Paolozzi (1924-2005) was one of the greatest Scottish and European artists of the 20th Century. His native city is where you will find not only some of his most arresting work but also a demonstration of the breadth of his creativity: Paolozzi at Large in Edinburgh is an homage to this inestimable treasure.
Former Edinburgh Makar Christine De Luca and Teaching Fellow Dr Carlo Pirozzi share their experience of creating this project and paying tribute to the works of Paolozzi, in particular the Edinburgh masterpieces. These tributes include new poems in English with Italian translations, informed commentaries and new artworks inspired by Paolozzi.
