Join us for the official launch of our new learning resource, Visitor Cards. The Aimless Archive was commissioned by Humber Street Gallery to consider ways in which visitors engage with our exhibitions and to provide new ways of doing so. The result is a new social resource for visitors in the form of The Aimless Archive’s Visitor Cards. These cards are adaptable – as visitors use them and conversations develop further cards will be added to the collection. Come along to this adaptive launch and presentation of work so far to engage with the process of the project and take part in its ongoing potential.

About The Aimless Archive

The Aimless Archive works across text – conversation – performance – collecting. It questions what we keep and what we get rid of by generating starting points for new and collaborative work, building archives as places for reflection and evaluation, and presenting unfinished and ongoing work. Repeatedly working in the area where artists and audiences meet, outcomes often take the form of (a book – a box – a by-product) or (a workshop – a scanned doc – a re-drafted piece of writing).

Organized by

Humber Street Gallery was established in 2017 as part of the City of Culture programme and has developed into a vibrant, high-quality contemporary visual art space for Hull. We host a year-round exhibitions programme as well as events, performances and activities.

Our ambition is to be known for making contemporary art accessible without compromising art or underestimating audiences, presenting an ambitious, thought-provoking cultural programme in a welcoming and engaging environment.

We aim to further develop the venue into a multi-artform and multi-functional creative centre, showcasing a wide range of art and activities providing something for everyone.
