We will experiment with collaging, playing with materials and mark making to create works featuring submissions from the archive of small joys.Working together we will build up large scale multi-layered pieces. The workshop will draw inspiration from the small joys submitted into the anthology of joy, reflecting on our personal and collective experiences.---This workshop is free and all materials will be provided. There are 10 places available for each session, 11am - 1pm and 2 - 4pm. ---<a href="https://aliyahhussain.co.uk/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Aliyah Hussain</a>’s practice approaches themes found within feminist science fiction literature as well as taking influence from imagery found within the design of nature, pattern, mathematics, and geology. With a background in performance and a practice rooted in process and making, her work moves across sound, ceramics, and drawing, with the methods of collage underpinning each discipline. She works with abstract forms and uses these to construct remixed narratives or create formulas for image-making; exploring visual and sonic modes of communication.---This event is produced by Museum of Half Truths and funded by Manchester Independents for the new project An Anthology of Joy. The project will build an archive of all of the small joys that we turn to for comfort in times of Covid. All contributions to the archive are welcome.
