LEADD:NG WORKSHOP: Introduction to Immersive Technology
Workshop from the ERDF-funded LEADDNG Project - part of a wider programme of events to introduce SMEs to immersive technologies
This Wide Angle event will be a whistle stop tour of ‘immersive technology’ – we all hear a lot about immersive tech, but what does that actually mean? Sure, you’ve heard of virtual reality, and probably augmented reality, but that’s only a small part of a broad area of technology.
The wide angle aims to familiarise attendees with the terminology, some light theory, and a whole toybox of state of the art technologies that might excite, inspire or terrify you.
From sensors to sensorimotor interfaces, from haptics to holograms, this wide angle will get you up to speed on “immersive tech”.
If you’re not sure what immersive tech is, this is for you.
If you think immersive tech means VR headsets, this is for you.
If you like to be creatively inspired by looking at the tools and materials, this is for you.
This is a ‘Wide angle’ event – open to anybody and providing an inspiring overview of immersive technology.
