Leading the Way with More Constructive Conversations

Leading the Way with More Constructive Conversations

Village Hotel MaidstoneMaidstone, England
Tuesday, Sep 15, 2026 from 6:45 pm to 9:30 pm GMT+1
Overview

A CIOB CPD workshop delivered in partnership with Thrivall and Andy’s Man Club

Please note: this event is for over 18’s only.

In construction, we’re great at solving practical problems - yet some of the most important challenges people face are often the hardest to talk about, let alone resolve.

Leading the Way is a powerful, practical workshop designed to help leaders, managers, and professionals across the built environment speak more openly and confidently about potentially sensitive personal and interpersonal challenges.

Developing mental fitness and resilience - alongside skills to manage everyday issues such as low mood, stress, anxiety, and conflict - enables teams to perform at their best and supports psychologically safe workplace cultures where people feel more engaged, energised, and able to innovate.

Delivered in partnership with Thrivall and Andy’s Man Club, this session brings together real-life experience, industry insight, and science-backed research. It highlights the vital role leaders play in modelling healthy behaviours, preventing burnout, and setting the tone for a more positive, supportive culture.

Together, we will explore:

• Why constructive conversations matter more than ever

• How leaders can set the example and break down stigma

• How to recognise when someone may be struggling

• Simple, human ways to start and sustain supportive conversations

• When and how to signpost professional support

Whether you’re a senior leader, site manager, or emerging professional, this workshop will leave you better equipped and more confident to lead conversations that can genuinely save and significantly enhance lives, at work and beyond

This learning activity can contribute to your annual CPD return and should be logged accordingly.
