Join the Scottish Manufacturing Advisory Service (SMAS) on 11 June 2024 for our free lean thinking workshop focussed on process improvement.

This workshop, which is being held at ETZ Ltd, is the second of a six-part series aimed at providing you with the tools you need to pass the Fit 4 Offshore Renewables (F4OR) programme accreditation.

The series is designed to help you develop your own continuous improvement strategies, to apply process improvements, improve workplace organisation and much more. Each workshop will also begin and end with a 30-minute networking opportunity.

Workshop two – Understanding Process Improvement Training

The second session in our series will focus on supporting your business with process improvements. You will learn:

  • The flow of departments within a company
  • The importance of gathering data to prioritise improvement actions
  • Practical tips and tools to identify waste and how to challenge it

Workshop three – Understanding and Implementing Value Stream Mapping and Management (10 July 2024)

This will cover:

  • Understanding how to create a value stream
  • Practical tips and tools to interpretate a value stream map

Workshop four – Implementing and Sustaining Workplace Organisation (14 August 2024)

This will cover:

• Creating a structured approach to implementing and sustaining workplace organisation

• Solutions to potential workplace organisation challenges

• Practical tips and tools to help organise your office and shopfloor

Workshop five – Developing Standard Work Methods (11 September 2024)

This will cover:

• Creating a structured method to developing a standard working approach

• Solutions to potential challenges when implementing standard work

• Practical tips and tools relevant to standard work

Workshop six – Planning for Maintenance and Asset Management (9 October 2024)

This will cover:

• Creating a structured approach to improving equipment condition and performance

• How to maximise effectiveness of each asset

• Practical tips to build operator knowledge and ownership of equipment

Who should attend

Our event is open to all manufacturers and producers – large, small and sector wide – who wish to improve business efficiency and begin their F4OR accreditation. It’s aimed at business leaders and managers who are looking to introduce a culture of change within the business and who wish to engage the workforce to look for opportunities to do things better and deliver process improvements that can benefit your business.

The event has been timed to ensure minimum time away from the workplace, arriving from 9am with breakfast rolls, fruit, pastries and refreshments available for attendees. The workshop will begin at 9:30am and finish at 12pm.
