Overview

Our Learn Qur’an course is designed to teach the correct recitation of the Holy Qur’an, and is open to both adults and children aged 9+. It is a requirement that you can already read Arabic to be able to enrol on these courses.

Course Description

Adults

We currently have two levels on this course.

Tajweed Level 1

This level is for non fluent Arabic reciters who need to learn the correct pronunciation of the Arabic alphabet, and the basic rules of recitation.

Tajweed Level 2

This level is for fluent Arabic reciters who need to learn correct pronunciation and the basic rules of recitation.

Children

Our children's course currently has one level for beginners and is for children of all levels of ability. The class is subject to being split in abilities if required.

All courses have the same syllabus but will be taught at different paces in accordance to level of ability. Students will go through the beginners book to acquire knowledge and gain fluency in correct pronunciation of the alphabet. This will be followed by learning rules of recitation from the Tajweed 1 book which will include both theory and practice in order to work towards implementing such rules when reading the Qur’an.

Lessons take place online and are hourly group classes, held once a week for a duration of 3 terms. Each term runs for 12-13 weeks and consists of Autumn, Spring and Summer. Our terms usually start in September, January and May, so when you enrol, you’ll be starting at the beginning of the new term.

Duration:

Each level consists of 36 - 39 weeks, split over 3 terms through the year.

Prerequisites: Must be able to read Arabic

Progression: Depending on level of learning, students will either continue to practise further on this level or have a choice to progress to the next Level on recommendation of the Teacher

Assessment

Students will be informally assessed at the end of the course.

Course Delivery

This course is currently being run online. Students are required to turn on their camera when interacting with the teacher.

Students will receive all other relevant course details before the course starts.

Timings

The current term will run for 12 weeks on the following dates. Once these classes are fully booked, we will open new classes and inform you of the dates.

Males

Adults Tajweed Level 1: Mondays 7pm

Females

Adults Tajweed Level 1: Mondays 7pm

Adults Tajweed Level 2: Mondays 6pm

Childrens Classes

Under 12’s: Saturdays 6pm

Starting: Week beginning 9th May
