Learning Cafe at the Library

Hello, we are considering introducing a Learning Cafe to the Swiss Cottage Library. Would you like to become involved?

We are looking for people who want to present topics and can co-ordinate conversations. Below, we have outlined what a Learning Cafe is and how we may be able to make it part of what we do at Swiss Cottage Library.

A Learning Cafe is a space where people can regularly meet to learn to learn with and from each other. Basically, it runs on a simple format of formal presentations and informal conversations in two spaces. The formal presentation can use the TV screen and the informal conversations take place in the café. Usually, the person or people doing the presentations will also host the conversations.

Here, at the Swiss Cottage Library, we will be exploring this concept on Saturday afternoons between 2-4pm. The basic format will be a formal session for the first hour, and the second hour will be a curated conversation in the café with tea, coffee, and biscuits.
