Learning event: Safeguarding and equalities

Have you ever wanted to train others? 
Whether you have some experience or are new to training, our ‘train the trainer’ learning event will help you develop the skills to run a successful training session with confidence.
This is a free learning event for those working with children, young people and families wishing to become and effective trainer and deliver the Safeguarding children, young people and equalities training programme.
The learning event will provide participants with the skills and knowledge to deliver a half or full day session within their organisation and to other colleagues locally.  Each participant will be provided with a training pack with all the materials and resources to deliver the training.
 The learning objectives are:
<UL>
<LI>To provide participants with the opportunity to develop their own knowledge and increase awareness of effective safeguarding practices that meet the needs of ‘protected equality groups’ </LI>
<LI>Provide an overview of the safeguarding children, young people and equalities session</LI>
<LI>To enable participants to demonstrate delivery of the training session</LI>
</UL>
Participants will also be supported to run one training programme in their local area.
 
The safeguarding children, young people and equalities programme
This training course aims to increase participants awareness of effective safeguarding practices that meet the needs of children and young people from all communities.  The session will include defining child abuse and demonstrate awareness of signs and indicators of possible child protection concerns; explore how personal values and beliefs can impact on practice, and increase knowledge around equality considerations in safeguarding.
By the end of the learning event you will:

<LI>Develop the skills and techniques to train others</LI>
<LI>Be confident in delivering presentations</LI>
<LI>Learn different ways of engaging people throughout a training session</LI>
<LI>Practice delivery of the training session</LI>
</UL>
Lunch will be provided.
