About this event

  • Event lasts 1 hour 30 minutes

As part of Landscape 75, a lecture series organised by APL’s Landscape department, we will be joined by founder of the Grass Roof Company, John Little.

John, alongside his wife Fiona, has created an experimental brownfield garden, Hilldrop in Essex. In this lecture we will hear about John’s inspiration of brownfield ecologies and experimentation with industrial waste materials as substrates for growing a variety of plants to support and sustain diverse communities of invertebrates, birds and mammals.

As well as his experimentation with alternative substrates John is keenly interested in the structure of physical space as a key ‘tool’ for habitat creation/biodiversity enhancement. John is a passionate advocate for ‘Care not Capital’ and campaigns for investment in gardeners as key ‘infrastructure’ in bringing chaos and complexity back into our landscapes.

Zoom details will be sent ahead to registered attendees prior to the event.
