Learning Symposium: Evidence-informed decision-making 

The North London Social Work Teaching Partnership has at its core, the aim of delivering excellence in social work practice to all service users and communities across the Partnership. We are driven by a set of shared goals and values of being people-focused; collaborative and creative, with the aim of building sustainable change in social work education and practice. Proactive and entrepreneurial, we strive to train the next generation of North London social workers and build on the current excellence of managers, academics and social workers alike, across the entire Partnership. We believe in leading by example, being respectful and open in sharing and valuing expertise wherever it is found. Through our collaborative venture, we will improve recruitment and retention of staff informed by our workforce needs analysis with the aim of reducing the number of agency staff and increasing permanent positions. The Partnership offers clear and cohesive progression pathways at all levels of the workforce and recognises the need to support aspiring managers and expert practitioners as a way of driving up standards and confidence in the workforce, promoting pride in our profession.

North London Social Work Teaching Partnership

This session will be delivered by Gerry Nosowska, Research in Practice Consultant.
This session will:
›      Give participants tools to support good decision-making in adult social care, drawing on evidence.
Participants will be able to:
›      Understand the context of decision-making in adult social care
›      Understand the elements of a defensible decision
›      Understand how evidence can support you to make good decisions
›      Consider the ethical aspects of decision making
›      Develop enablers and overcome barriers to good decision-making
›      Identify actions to take in practice to support good decision-making
 
* This session is open to Social Workers and staff working in Social Care across the Teaching Partnership (Barnet, Hackney, Haringey, Enfield, and Norwood).
