LeedsACTS! "Demystifying Data" Event

Leeds ACTS! (Academic Collaboration with the Third Sector) is an exciting partnership programme which aims to drive collaboration between the third sector and higher education institutions in Leeds.

Collecting and using data is a growing requirement for any organization involved in service delivery across the Third Sector. There is talk and also concerns about open data – Is it secure? How do we access it? As well interest in using other forms of data – How can it be measured? And what tools are available to best present data? 
LeedsACTS! is hosting a “Demystifying Data” event to share insight both from academics and third sector organizations, and their experiences of working together around the collection, sharing and presenting of data. We’ll be asking all presenters to share their “top tips and useful tools.” 
Join us to find out more about using data effectively, networking with academics and Third Sector partners with the potential of working together. The purpose of the event is to create space and opportunity to develop potential collaborative opportunities around a shared topic.

14:00 - 14:15  Frank Vaughan Leeds Housing Concern & Stephan Blackburn Leeds Data Mill - Sharing data on Leeds Data Mill: why, how and so what?
14:15 14:30   Paul Connell - Explain the ODI–facilitating networking, exchange in the City: egs of community focused work? Opportunities (barriers) for engagement with the Third Sector?
14:30 14:55  Table Discussions - Introduce each other, issues and challenges, ideas prompted from the presentations
15:00 15: 25 Panel -  Open discussion of issues raised and ideas for collaboration.
15:25 15:30 Conclusions & next Steps,  Final feedback & closing comments
