What is and what are the aims of LEEP?

LEEP is an introductory leadership development course made up of 4 half-day modules. Leadership education is critical for optimising patient care and our working environment, empowering staff to develop skills required for the complexity of modern-day healthcare delivery.

Who is LEEP for?

LEEP is designed for all clinical healthcare staff within the NHS.

What does LEEP 2 cover?

LEEP 2 covers team-working, the attributes of successful teams, personality types specific to teams and how to nurture a safe environment for interpersonal risk taking (psychological safety) with the aim to reduce error, maximise learning and foster innovation.

Question 4

How is LEEP delivered?

The course is delivered virtually (Microsoft Teams) by a senior education fellow and, typically, a consultant faculty member.  It is discussion-based so requires a working camera and microphone. You may be asked to reschedule if you do not have this. The session is not recorded.

Question 5

How is LEEP funded and managed at Chelsea and Westminster?

We receive the course fee directly from NHS England for any doctor that is F2 level or above AND in a recognised training programme. Those not meeting these criteria, we require that you self-fund the course and encourage you to claim the cost from any study budget that may be available to you.

Which ticket type should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Only choose NTN if you will be a medical trainee at F2 or above level (e.g. Foundation trainee, IMT, specialty trainee) at the time of session delivery. By signing up to this ticket, you are agreeing that you meet these criteria and in case of error, you are liable for general admission cost.

What is your refund policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellation >7 days: full refund. Cancellations  >48 hours:  offered a place on another day (email: chelwest.leep.wm@nhs.net). Only in exceptional circumstances can refunds be given otherwise. The above also applies to NTNs such that NHS England funding can only be applied once per module.

Question 8

Do I have to complete the modules in order?

It is strongly recommended to complete the modules in order because the course is designed such that concepts from earlier modules are utilised in later ones.

Are there further requirements for the completion of LEEP?

Accepted Answer

No. We no longer mandate that a QIP be performed.
