Join us for the annual Legal Service at Bristol Cathedral on Tuesday 7 October 2025 at 5:30pm, marking the beginning of the Legal Year and the Michaelmas Law Term.

Coordinated by the High Sheriff of Bristol, Kalpna Woolf, this year’s service will reflect on themes of peace, community, and unity. We are honoured to welcome acclaimed author and screenwriter Nikesh Shukla as our keynote speaker.

Practical Information:

  • Dress code: Uniform, robes or lounge suits. Traditional dress is warmly welcomed.
  • Robing: Judges, civic dignitaries, armed forces members, and members of the College of Canons are invited to robe and process. Aldermen/women may robe, but will not process.
  • Please indicate whether you will be robing when booking.
  • Those robing and processing should arrive at the Cresswell Centre, Bristol Cathedral Choir School by 4:30pm, where tea and coffee will be served.
  • All other guests are kindly asked to be seated in the Cathedral by 5:15pm.
  • Please note: There is no parking at the Cathedral. Nearby parking is available at Millennium Square or College Street.
  • Refreshments will be served in the Cathedral following the service. All are warmly invited to stay.
