The Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) has launched a new competition: Advancing Less Lethal Weapons.Join the competition team for a online webinar on Wednesday 9 September 2020, 10am to 12.30pm. We will provide a short briefing on the competition process and scope followed by an open forum Q&A session.This DASA competition is seeking proposals for innovative technologies that can temporarily and safely neutralise the threat posed by violent or armed individuals at distances between 0m and 50m (stretch to 70m), to prevent the escalation of conflict or destruction of property. At the end of the Phase 1 competition, we expect the innovation to be sufficiently developed to achieve a <a href="https://www.gov.uk/guidance/defence-and-security-accelerator-terms-and-conditions-and-contract-guidance#what-dasa-funds" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Technology Readiness Level (TRL)</a> of either TRL 4 or 7, dependent on which track is chosen ((Track 1: Low TRL entry and Track 2: Mid TRL entry) is £500k (ex VAT). The total funding available in this competition across two tracks (Track 1: Low TRL entry and Track 2: Mid TRL entry) is £500k (ex VAT). <h3>Please note:</h3><ul><li>Registration for the launch event will close Tuesday 8 September 2020 at 10am.</li></ul><ul><li>Joining instructions and slides will be sent by email to the address you used when registering ahead of the event (if you don't receive anything, please check your junk folder)</li></ul><ul><li>The information you provide will be retained by the Defence and Security Accelerator (DASA) to contact you in regards to this event, and any future DASA communications that may be relevant to you. Dstl will also have access to this information for this event. Please indicate on the registration if this is something you do not wish to do.</li></ul><ul><li>If the event is oversubscribed, DASA reserves the right to limit the number of spaces per organisation. By registering, you are agreeing to your email address being shared with other people who have registered from your organisation to co-ordinate attendance. </li></ul><ul><li>There will also be pre-bookable one to one dial ins for this competition which will take place online on Wednesday 9 September and Thursday 24 September , where you will be able to discuss the Advancing Less Lethal Weapons competition with technical members of the competition team. </li></ul>
