This workshop is for parents and carers of neurodivergent children and explores the Low Arousal Approach - a way of supporting children through moments of overwhelm using calm, connection-based strategies rather than confrontation. It focuses on reducing stress and creating emotional safety for both the child and the adult, helping to build trust and support more regulated, connected responses. This approach is especially helpful for children who experience the world differently or have heightened stress responses, creating space for understanding instead of escalation.
Our trainer, Keri Fisher, is a Lead Specialist in the Low Arousal Approach with over 12 years experience across adult and children’s services. With a background in supporting autistic individuals and those with additional needs, she now works with families and professionals to deliver training focused on proactive, person-centred support. Her work centres on reducing stress, promoting well-being, and creating safe, calm environments for those being supported and those providing support.
