Let's Get Started (LeGS) event: Learning disability research
Join the NIHR Research Delivery Network to kick-start your journey into the world of learning disability research.
About the event:
People with learning disabilities are under represented in health and social care research. We want to address this and this event is an activity to get started.
During this event, we will share details of:
- NIHR infrastructure
- Careers with the NIHR
- NIHR funding opportunities for research
- NIHR-funded studies already conducted by researchers in learning disabilities
We will also provide opportunities to network with organisations to help you/your organisation make the first step towards becoming part of research.
The event will include presentations, workshops and speed dating-style sessions to raise awareness and commence collaborations, to allow the development of future research ideas and participation in NIHR studies.
Please register to reserve your place for the day. We are really pleased you are considering joining us on the day. More information regarding the formalised programme will be released before the festive break. We look forward to seeing you all in March 2026.
Who should consider attending?
- Health and Social Care professionals (regulated and non regulated) who work with/care for people (children and adults) with learning disabilities.
