Choose How You Move encourage people to travel sustainably in Leicester - especially on foot or by bike!  We put on a range of group walks across the city to encourage people to discover Leicester on foot. Join us to discover how walkable the city really is!

Join us for social walks each month, visiting Leicester's Museums and other public venues! Enjoy a friendly group walk through pleasant city streets and parks. We reveal some interesting facts along the way and there is  a social opportunity afterwards.

<h3>Let's Get Together Stroll - June Join us for a social group walk with a 'makers, manufacturers and creatives' theme Wednesday 19 June at 11am</h3><h3> Starting from Town Hall Square, off Horsefair Street Finishing at DMU Museum, The Newarke, city centre Allow up to 60 minutes for the walk and 30+ minutes afterwards to visit 'Artifacts Live' at DMU Museum. Enjoy a friendly short walk through pleasant city streets, with a little information along the way. This month we pass locations in the city associated with makers, manufacturers and creative people, finishing at DMU Museum on The Newarke (free entry), to visit their temporary exhibition, <a href="https://www.dmu.ac.uk/about-dmu/dmu-museum/current-exhibitions.aspx" title="https://www.dmu.ac.uk/about-dmu/dmu-museum/current-exhibitions.aspx" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Artifacts Live: A Legacy in Leather</a>. Artifacts Live is a unique collaboration between the Museum of Leathercraft Northampton and De Montfort University. Students from DMU fashion, design and textiles courses were invited to study and draw inspiration from objects in the Museum of Leathercraft's collection. In response, the students emulated traditional hand-skilled techniques to design and create their own fascinating works of leathercraft, displayed in this exhibition - as well as the beautiful original artifacts which inspired their work. </h3>Allow about 60 minutes for the walk and 30+ minutes for the visit, although walkers may wish to stay longer. This walk is suitable for most. Walking or wheeling, we hope you'll join us! New WalkersIf you have not walked with Leicester City Council before we will ask you to complete our Walker Registration form in advance of the walk online or by phone. You will receive an email with a link to the online form in the days leading up to the event. You only need to do this once and can attend any of our walks thereafter (subject to booking a place on Eventbrite).Dress for the weatherRemember to dress appropriately for the weather. Our group walks will go ahead in most weather.
