Frequently asked questions

How many tickets can I book?

Each ticket booking is allocated to the person who is fishing only. This year we have set bookings to 1 ticket at a time, so multiple bookings have to be done separately. Parents/friends and family who are not fishing are welcome to join us on the day (we may even be able to get you fishing!).

What is the age limit?

From experience, chidlren younger than 5-6 years old will struggle to maintain engagement, so we wouldnt suggest any lower than that, unless you are fishing for yourself and your child acccompanies you. With adults there is no age limit, other than any physical restrictions that may put you at risk

Do I need to pay?

No, these are events are still FREE to attend!

Do you have a What3words for the venue?

Sure! it is bedrooms.occupations.obvious

Are pets allowed?

Sorry, there are no pets allowed on this venue.

How do i get to the pond?

If you drive along College Lane, you will see it sign posted at the turn off to the venue.

Yes we do! we have our event shop, where we sell Caps, different types of books, sticker sets and more. We accept both cash and card payments.

Do you accept monetary donations?

We are setup to accept donations, this can be done via card payment, paypal or via our donation buckets at the event days and in store at Bodle Angling. Purchasing our merchandise and products also provides us with a form of funding too.

My child is Neurodivergent, can they still come to your event days?

Of course! Fishing is a great way for neurodivergent individuals to relax, socialise in a low-pressure environment and learn new skills! All our staff are DBS Checked and we have trained staff in mental health and Neurodiversity.

Are your staff trained?

Yes, all of our staff have a DBS check . They have a minimum of 2 years angling experience (although most of us are life long anglers), we have Angling Trust Level 2 Coaches, Level 1 trained Assitant coaches who are trained in first aid and safeguarding. We also have mental health training.

Organised by

The free open day events are driven by an already successful campaign, produced and heavily promoted by

the Angling Trust. Using these pre-existing methods and deliverable programs ensures that the initiative meets

demand and is governed to a set level, one which is monitored and set by the governing body of the angling

industry. The coach training is also driven by the Angling Trust, who work alongside Sports England and 1st 4

Sport to provide up to date training programs that meet very high levels of standards.

The Let's Go Fishing! aims are to address the growing need for outdoor activities that provide a break from

daily routines, offering a refreshing and fulfilling experience. To target the rising concern for mental health by

providing a therapeutic escape, promoting relaxation, and reducing stress through outdoor engagement.

Address the desire for community connection by creating a space where individuals with shared interests can

come together, fostering a sense of belonging. The product also addresses frustrations related to barriers to

entry in recreational activities by providing an free and accessible platform for individuals of all skill levels to

try angling.

All our events are exclusively Sponsored by Bodle Angling, a tackle shop bassed in Burgess Hill (Part of the Bodle Bros Ltd family business).
