Event description

Description

With the skills gap high on the agenda of local and national government, Progress to Excellence Ltd, in partnership with Wirral Chamber of Commerce, will be holding an interactive panel discussion on Tuesday 16 April to discuss the practical ways that businesses can use apprenticeships to address to skills shortage.

Delegates will;

  • Learn more about how they could access incentive payments to train a 16-24 year old (T&Cs apply)

  • Discover how employers can support each other to help plug the skills gap by transferring levy funds

  • Hear from businesses who are already using apprenticeships to train new and existing staff

  • Hear from Liverpool City Region Combined Authority who will share the regional agenda and outcomes of various research pieces.

The event will coincide with the two year anniversary of the introduction of the Apprenticeship Levy, which also marks the start of the ‘claw back’ of unspent levy funds by the government.

The audience will also have the opportunity to shape the discussion by submitting questions for the panel ahead of the day and questions will also be taken on the day.

Confirmed panellists include;

  • Progress to Excellence Ltd

  • Wirral Chamber of Commerce

  • Russell Taylor Group

  • The Hive Youth Zone

  • Liverpool City Region Combined Authority

Mark Basnett from the LEP will also be joining us to chair the panel discussion.
