The class consists of controlled, low impact exercises focusing on core strength and alignment. Options will be provided to keep things simple or intensify to add more of a challenge, so you can move at your own pace.
We’ll explore stability, coordination, and mobility in a way that feels accessible and enjoyable and you’ll leave feeling stronger, energised and connected to your body.
No prior Pilates experience needed!
Class agenda
- Welcome and check-in – intro and injuries check
- Warm-up – posture, breathwork, activating the core, mobilising joints
- Main phase - sequence of Pilates exercises (strength and mobilisation exercises working core, glutes, posture, balance). Progressions/regressions provided throughout
- Stretching and closing phase– stretching worked muscles, Shavasana and mindfulness
- Ending Class - Thank yous, questions and reset
Folks will be encouraged throughout the class to take water breaks and adjust or stop if necessary.
Please bring a yoga mat if you have one. There are also yoga mats available at the Centre.
About the facilitator
Aston (she/her) is a Level 3 Mat and Reformer Pilates instructor and dance teacher. She leads her classes with energy, expertise, and an enormous love for teaching.
Her classes strike a balance between learning and fun no matter your experience - ensuring you not only develop strong technique and confidence, but also enjoy the process too!
Accessibility
- The class is a continuous flow, but folks will be encouraged to take a break or get water as they need
- The class will begin standing for roughly 10 minutes and we will then do a series of kneeling, lying (front and back) and seated exercises before finishing with Shavasana and mindfulness
- There are limited interactions during the class as it is solo practice, but you're more than welcome to socialise and interact after!
- We will remain in one group in one room
- Aston can offer hands-on corrections for alignment, but will check for consent before doing so
