The Lancaster University LGBTQ+ Staff Network was established to support and empower LGBT+ staff and postgraduate students. We are an inclusive and welcoming space for anyone who defines themselves as lesbian, gay, bi, trans, non-binary, queer, intersex, asexual or questioning (LGBTQIA+) and our allies.

Lancaster University LGBTQ+ Staff Network

Lancaster University's LGBTQ+ Student, Staff and Allies Networks are joined by the University of Cumbria's LGBTQ+ Network for a panel event.

LGBTQ+ representatives from Lancaster University and University of Cumbria are collaborating to host an open discussion to answer your questions in honour of LGBT history month. The panel will be answering your anonymously submitted questions about:University’s resources, policies and support for LGBTQ+ people and allies: <ul><li>“Are there any policies for your trans/non-binary students?”</li><li>“Where can I go for support if I have a LGBTQ+ query?”</li><li>“Is there any training for staff relating to the LGBTQ+ community?”</li></ul>LGBTQ+ community questions:<ul><li>“I think I am ready to come out, any advice on coming out/needing to come out?”</li><li> “Can you share some of the current challenges in the LGBTQ+ community?”</li><li>“Where can I make fellow LGBTQ+ friends?”</li></ul>Ally questions:<ul><li>“How can I be a LGBTQ+ ally?”</li><li>“What are pronouns and why are they important?”</li><li>“There are so many LGBTQ+ identities, am I supposed to know all of them?”</li></ul> Anonymous questions can be submitted live during event or beforehand by emailing lgbtstaffnetwork@lancaster.ac.uk. Lancaster University and University of Cumbria are committed to safeguarding both panellists and attendees. Panellists pledge to provide an inclusive and safe environment in which we recognise our differences as our strengths, seeking and valuing different perspectives and ideas, in an environment that is without prejudice and bias. Derogatory, discriminatory and anti-social questions or comments will not be tolerated in any form and attendees will be removed if this is contravened.
