An overview and understanding of development perspectives and the importance of using site condition

The Landscape Institute and Institute of Chartered Foresters have put together a collaborative webinar series covering the following three topics <ul><li>Design &amp; Development </li><li>Planning for success</li><li>Climate Change</li></ul>A genuinely interdisciplinary webinar series about the challenges and opportunities at each stage of designing, planning, planting and establishing trees in the built environment, that empowers landscape architects, arboriculturists, planners and others to ensure that every tree planted survives and thrives. Learning outcomes <ul><li>Better understanding of the challenges for trees in landscape e.g. design, quality of plants, standard of installation, maintenance afterwards </li><li>Knowledge exchange, share good practice and learn different approaches to apply in their respective roles </li><li>Feel empowered to apply these approaches e.g. ask for what is needed, get the right support and advice, maximise variety for resilience, drive nurseries for quality, enforce properly, maintain long term. </li><li>Come together on shared challenges of climate change, biosecurity, health and inequality, retrofitting our cities. </li></ul>Design &amp; Development (partnerships) Session Objectives <ul><li>Gain an overview and understanding of development perspectives through the development and construction phase </li><li>Recognise the importance of using site conditions including soil when planning/designing green infrastructure </li><li>Be able to identify potential civil engineering constraints and opportunities </li><li>Identify opportunities for collaboration and partnerships working to deliver an efficient and successful project. </li></ul>Join this webinar which is open to LI members and non-members.This webinar is accepted as part of the <a href="https://www.landscapeinstitute.org/education/careers/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Continuing Professional Development (CPD)</a> required to be completed by LI members. The LI Code of Practice requires members to undertake a minimum of 25 hours of CPD activity each year. The <a href="https://landscapewpstorage01.blob.core.windows.net/www-landscapeinstitute-org/2023/01/12476_LI_Entry_Standards_Competency_Framework-1_SEPT2022_v5.pdf" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">Competency Framework</a> reflects the common skills that the landscape profession as a whole need to deliver their professional advice to others. This webinar is aligned with our competency framework, in particular the competency of:<ul><li>Design– landscape (all sectors)</li><li>Landscape construction (materials and systems)</li><li>Landscape planning and/or policy</li></ul>The LI provides a range of services to help its members stay up to date with the landscape profession. These services include:<ul><li>Continuing Professional Development (CPD): The LI supports members in maintaining their professional competence via webinars, seminars, conferences or <a href="https://www.landscapeinstitute.org/member-content/engage/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">volunteering within the LI </a>such as becoming an assessor for our Technician, Chartership or Fellowship grades and helping others on their professional recognition journey. <a href="https://campus.landscapeinstitute.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LI Campus</a> is a free service provided to members to keep their skills up to date. </li><li>Publications and Research: Members are provided with <a href="https://issuu.com/landscape-institute" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">LI journals</a>, reports, and research papers on the landscape profession to keep them up to date on the latest finding and issues within the landscape profession and what they can do to support and help. </li><li>Networking and Collaboration: The LI provides its members networking opportunities, whether it be at an <a href="https://www.landscapeinstitute.org/events/events/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">in-person event</a> or online via LI Connect or <a href="https://www.landscapeinstitute.org/member-content/engage/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">volunteering</a>. These opportunities allow members to connect, share experience and collaborate on projects. </li><li>Recognition and Awards: <a href="https://awards.landscapeinstitute.org/" target="_blank" data-msys-clicktrack="0" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">The LI Awards</a> celebrates people, place and nature, and the myriad ways that landscape projects can connect them. It celebrates spaces that people can be truly proud of.
