In our final chapter in our Human Narrative series, we discuss the movement from User-Centred to Human-Centred to Life-Centred.

The last in our Human Narrative series of briefings looks at Life-centered Design – delivering a more personal, integrated and ultimately fulfilling series of experiences for humans.Where the human in a specific context – for example, buying a shirt, booking a holiday or researching a product - has always been the focus of system and product design, Life-centered design looks at an individual’s wider eco-system, values and core motivations. We may desire that shirt – but not if it is made in a sweat shop in Bangladesh. We may want to book that holiday – but maybe not if it involves an airline that is not investing in investigating alternative greener fuel technologies. We may research that product but not using a search engine that doesn’t pay its taxes.. How can experience, product and service designers accommodate and these more intrinsic and value based demands? Can they? After all how can digital interactions reflect real-life individual values? Do join us on the 26th May to explore and discuss the opportunities that taking a Life centered design approach offers.
