LIFEMUSIC’ with Chris. North.

‘Lifemusic’ puts the ‘hum’ back into human & connects us to time

The ‘Lifemusic’ method provides a safe, participatory, imaginative, accessible and inclusive space for creating music which promotes our well-being. I supply the instruments but participants can also bring their own and any instrument is welcome.

This unique, well-established method developed over many years was inspired by composer, musician and writer Dr Rod Paton previously a Music Lecturer at Chichester University. It’s accessible to everyone whatever their age, level of music training or none.

Everyone is musical, there are no wrong notes and every sound has a meaning – making music is a question of trust."

WHAT HAPPENS IN ‘THAT SPACE’ ?

I’ve around 60 various musical instruments which participants can choose from and use free expression, improvisation, listening and imagination to paint ‘sound pictures’.

There is satisfaction and depth in the creative process of ‘Lifemusic’ and a valuable and interesting experience to weave music, poetry, art and prose into a ‘sound landscape’ !

I’m passionate about ‘Lifemusic’ and its principles which apply to other forms of expressive art too.

“Lifemusic is about the sound of music and people making connections”

Cert. Ed.; Associate Drama Board; Equity Member; Registered ‘Lifemusic’ Practitioner. Rod Paton’s book is: ‘Lifemusic Connecting People to Time’ published by Archive Publishing in 2012
